FLUXUS
Een van de eerste naoorlogse bewegingen na de 2e wereld oorlog was bijvoorbeeld de Fluxus
FLUXUS kunstenaars waren tegen het eten van de kunst op een commerciële manier en ze wilden hun publiek shockeren met acties die zij performance noemden. Die eerste week op mijn kunstacademie ontmoette ik veel Fluxus- kunstenaars en ik herinner me ons bezoek aan plaatsen in Duitsland en we keken naar optredens in Amerika, Frankrijk en Engeland. Fluxus was internationaal over de hele wereld, maar dus ook erg actief in Europa en het was zeker een belangrijke beweging te noemen in de kunst. (Zie: http://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fluxus)
Een aantal bekende Nederlandse FLuxux-artiesten die ik ook persoonlijk ken, hebben nog steeds grote invloed in Nederland zonder dat veel Nederlanders dat vaak weten. Een van hen werd erg beroemd in de Nederlandse televisie (en nog steeds met zijn stem in de Nederlandse Sesamstreat) Het is Wim T. Schippers en de andere werd een zeer goed verhalenverteller en heb ik ook nog voor deze hartenkrant persoonlijk willen interviewen. Het is Willem de Ridder. Beiden schreven ze boeken en kranten en zijn dus nog steeds erg populair in Nederland en België.
Misschien kun je het verhaal van de Beatles herinneren en weet je dat John Lennon een Japanse kunstanares leerde kennen die Yoko Ono heette.
Yoko Ono was dus ook een Fluxus-kunstenaar en er is dus ook een bekende performance van Yoko Ono John Lennon in Nederland geweest. Een van de meest spectaculaire performance van Joko en John was de BEDPEACE- performance. Het werd gedaan in een van de duurste hotels van Amsterdam, genaamd het HILTON-hotel en je kunt dit verhaal nog steeds horen in BALLAD van John en Yoko.

in my first days of the academy of artin the city of Enschede (1982) , they introduce an international FLUXUS festival and I could not help that I was often irritated. But of course I opened my eyes to this not insignificant period in art. It was all about art and acting.
FLUXUS artists were against eating the art in a commercial way and they wanted to shock their audiences to actions they called performance. That first week at my art school I met many Fluxus artists and I remember our visit to places in Germany and we watched shows in America, France and England. A number of famous Dutch artists FLuxux which I know personally, still have great influence in the Netherlands without knowing by many Dutch people. One of them was very famous in Dutch television (and still with his voice in the Dutch Sesame Street) is Wim T. Schippers and the other was a very good storyteller and I interview him personal for thePaper of Hearts. It is Willem de Ridder. Both they wrote books and newspapers and are still very popular in the Netherlands and Belgium.
Maybe you remember also a part of the story of the Beatles and you know that John Lennon met Japanese fluxux artist Yoko Ono.
So Yoko Ono was Fluxus artist and there was also a famous performance of Yoko Ono Lennon in the Netherlands. They call it the BEDPEACE performance. It was done in one of the most expensive hotels in Amsterdam, called the Hilton hotel and maybe you can still hear this this story in the BALLAD of John and Yoko.
